Mashed Carrots and Turnips Recipe

Looking for something a little different for dinner? This recipe uses often overlooked turnips. It's an interesting blend, with a pleasing taste.

Carrots and Turnips Ingredients:

  • 2 bunches of carrots

  • 1 large turnip

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 2 Tablespoons butter or margarine

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar

  • salt and pepper, to taste

How to Make Carrots and Turnips:

  • Peel carrots and turnip.

  • Cook separately in boiling water, until tender. (they turn tender at slightly different times.)

  • Drain and place in mixing bowl.

  • Add butter or margarine, and brown sugar.

  • Mash wit mixer until smooth.

  • Salt and pepper, to taste.

  • Serve hot.
