How to Make Cream of Pumpkin Soup

Description: Cream of Pumpkin Soup is a heart dish, perfect for a cold fall day. Serve it for lunch or for dinner. Either way, you will thoroughly enjoy it.


1 pound pumpkin flesh

2 cups milk

1 onion, finely diced

1 Tablespoon vegetable oil

1 Tablespoon flour

1 cup water

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

How to Make Cream of Pumpkin Soup:

  1. Steam pumpkin for 20 minutes, until soft.
  2. Remove the skin.
  3. Push pulp through a sieve.
  4. In a frying pan, heat oil and sauté diced onion.
  5. Stir in flour and add water.
  6. Stir in pumpkin pulp, then the milk.
  7. Add salt and pepper.
  8. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  9. For a smooth soup, pour/push through a sieve again.
  10. Serve hot.
