Fried Green Tomatoes Recipe

Description: This is a basic Fried Green Tomato recipe. After you've made this one, we're sure you will like it so much, that you will experiment with the many other ways to make fried green tomatoes.


Ingredients:

4 - 5 Green Tomatoes
1/4 cup. Vegetable Oil
1 cup Flour
1/4 cup Milk or Evaporated Milk.
To taste Salt
To taste Black Pepper


Preparation Directions:
  1. Wash tomatoes.
  2. Core tomatoes and slice into 1/4 to 1/2" slices.
  3. Place tomato slices on paper towels to drain a little.
  4. Put vegetable oil into a skillet, and heat up.
  5. Mix salt and pepper with flour in a bowl.
  6. Add milk to another bowl.
  7. Dip tomatoes into the milk.
  8. Then, dip the tomato slices into the flour.
  9. Put slices into the skillet.
  10. Fry on each side, about 1 1/2 to 2 minutes per side, until crispy and golden brown.
  11. Serve hot.
