This is a true garlic smashed potato recipe. Too many recipes online and off, call for the potatoes to be peeled, and/or to mash the potatoes smoothly. Smashed potatoes should not be peeled, and they should be roughly mashed.

8 potatoes
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup milk
2 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
1/2 teaspoon parsley flakes
sesame seeds
salt and pepper to taste
Boil potatoes (unpeeled) in water until soft.
Drain and place in a mixing bowl.
Use a knife to cut pieces a little to make mixing easier.
Add butter, milk, and parsley flakes.
Add minced garlic.
Use a mixer to mash the potatoes to a lumpy slightly lumpy consistency.
Place a dollop of smashed potatoes on a plate and lightly sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
