Leeks Au Gratin Recipe

Description:  This is an old fashioned recipe that never goes out of style. Quick preparation and cooking time.

Serves: 8 people


  • two bunches of leeks

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • pepper to taste

  • 3/4 cups grated cheddar cheese

Tip: Try different types of cheeses, if you prefer.

Preparation  Directions:

  • Wash and trim leeks.

  • Cook leeks in boiling salt water until tender.

  • Drain and arrange leeks on a buttered baking dish.

  • Pepper leeks to taste.

  • Sprinkle grated cheese over leeks.

  • Heat under broiler until cheese is melted.

Tip: Heat on the grill with the cover closed, for a slightly smoky flavor.
