Homemade Tomato Provençale Recipe Description

This tomato provençale recipe is a delicious mid-summer dish. As soon as your garden tomatoes start to ripen, it’s time to begin making tomato provencale.

Tomato Provencale Recipe Ingredients

4 large tomatoes

3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

1/4 teaspoon salt

pepper to taste

1 clove garlic, minced

1 Tablespoon chopped parsley

2 Tablespoons breadcrumbs

Directions on How to Make Tomato Provençale

  1. First, cut the tomatoes in half crosswise, and remove the seeds.

  2. Then, warm oil in a skillet and sauté the tomatoes, cut side down, for 3 minutes.

  3. Turn over tomatoes and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Sauté for another 3 minutes.

  4. Add minced garlic to the skillet. and sauté for 2 minutes.

  5. Place tomatoes onto a warm serving dish and sprinkle with parsley.

  6. Add breadcrumbs to skillet and cook until brown, stirring frequently.

  7. Drain onto paper towels, and sprinkle bread crumbs over the tomatoes.

  8. Serve warm.

Recipe Suggestion: For a pleasant, lightly smoky flavor, cook in a skillet over a charcoal grill.
