The Old Farmer's Almanac

The Old Farmers Almanac is the most recognized book in the world, for farmers and gardeners. You do not have to be an old farmer to read and enjoy its wit and wisdom. The original Old Farmers Almanac was published in 1792. It has been in continuous publication since 1818. We are not certain as to the distinction between the two dates. We suspect it was sporadically published in its first years of publication.

The almanac is published by Almanac Publishing Company, in Lewiston, Maine. Like other annual almanacs and calendars, it is published near the end of the year. It is widely popular for Christmas gifts and fits in a stocking.
