Traditional Cole Slaw Dressing Recipe

Description: Making your own cole slaw is quick and easy. This traditional cole slaw recipe includes a basic coleslaw dressing.


1/2 head Cabbage
1 Carrot, medium size
Cole Slaw Dressing Ingredients:
1 cup Mayonnaise
1 tsp. Vinegar
1/4 tsp. Sugar
1/8 tsp. Salt
Pepper, to taste
3-4 drops   Lemon Juice

Preparation Directions:
  1. In a bowl, mix together the coleslaw dressing ingredients. Set aside.
  2. Shred 1/2 of a head of cabbage.
  3. Shred carrot, and add it to the shredded cabbage.
  4. Pour about 2/3 of cole slaw dressing into the cabbage. Mix well.
  5. Add the remainder of the cole slaw dressing, if the cole slaw looks a little dry. You may or may not need all of the dressing.
  6. Cover and place cole slaw into the refrigerator for at least an hour to chill.
