Peach Cobbler Recipe Description

If peaches have ripened on your peach trees, or are now available at your local market, it’s time to try this sweet and delicious peach cobbler recipe.

Serves: 6-8

Did You Know? Every June at the Georgia Peach Festival, the world record peach cobbler is made. It measures 11 feet by 5 feet and 8 inches deep.

Peach Cobbler Ingredients

Filling Ingredients:

  • 3 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1/4 cup butter cut into small pieces

Crust Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 Tablespoon sugar

  • 1/4 cup butter

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Peach Cobbler Recipe Directions

Filling Preparation  Directions:

  1. Place sliced peaches into a 1 1/2 quart baking dish.

  2. Sprinkle cup sugar onto peaches.

  3. Dot with butter.

Crust Preparation  Directions:

  1. Pre-heat oven to 375 ° F.

  2. Mix together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.

  3. Cut in butter.

  4. Slowly stir in heavy cream until the dough is manageable.

  5. Roll dough onto a floured surface.

  6. Place dough over peaches.

  7. Bake for 35 minutes, until the top crust is a golden brown.

Serving Tip: Try vanilla or peach ice cream on top.
