Potato Chips Recipe Ingredients

3-4 potatoes, washed

vegetable oil

salt, regular or lite

Recipe Directions

  1. Peel potatoes or leave unpeeled as desired.
  2. Slice potatoes very thin.
  3. Put sliced potatoes into ice-cold water, and set them in the refrigerator for 30-60 minutes. Note: you can skip this step if making just a few.
  4. Drain potatoes and dry them very thoroughly with paper towels. Any water can cause a dangerous splattering of hot oil.
  5. Heat oil to 375 ° F in a fryer.
  6. Place a layer of potato chips into the fryer.
  7. Fry chips to a light brown.
  8. Drain the basket and pour chips onto paper towels.
  9. Salt lightly to taste.

Tip: Only put a few chips into the fryer at a time to avoid them sticking together.
